What is InterLink?
Our newest service, InterLink assists and supports older parent carers who are still caring for their adult son or daughter with a disability at home to maintain their caring role as long as possible
How can InterLink help you?
As a two year pilot project funded by the NSW Department of Aging, Disability and Home Care, InterLink assists aging parents over the age of 60 or aboriginal parents over the age of 45 to determine their current and future needs as carers.
Whilst not replacing existing services or people's current community and support networks, InterLink will connect parent carers with services that can assist them including respite care, home care, home modifications etc. Additionally, InterLink can check that older parent carers are receiving all eligible Government benefits and entitlements.
InterLink provides older parent carers with information about supported accommodation services, health care information, referrals to services and information on legal issues such as wills, trusts and guardianship to enable them to make decisions regarding future care for their son or daughter with a disability.
Referrals or further information can be obtained by telephoning 1300 727 545 or downloading the printable brochure.
