What is it?
Respite provides planned breaks to families/carers who have the
responsibility of a person who has a disability in order to support and
maintain primary care giving relationships.
What does it do?
Respite provides a positive experience including the opportunity to mix
with other people enabling the regular carer to have a break.
Why is it important?
Families/carers have the constant responsibility in providing care to
their son or daughter with a disability. Planned respite gives
families that all important break.
Who can use this service?
An adult with an intellectual disability. Placements are dependent
on availability and resources. The adult must live in the nine local
government councils surrounding Wagga Wagga(Leeton, Narrandera, Lockhart,
Coolamon, Temora, Junee, Gundagai, Cootamundra and Tumut). The
