Kurrajong Early Childhood Intervention Service

KEIS is an innovative leading edge early intervention service situated in the Riverina area in NSW, providing an Early Childhood Intervention service for 150 to 200 families who have a child aged from birth to school entry with a disability or developmental delay in two or more areas.

KEIS provides family support, therapy and education support to children and their families. These services are provided by four teams; each consisting of an Educator, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist and a Family Support Worker, all working together with the family.

KEIS is a family centred service, which means that it aims to support the needs of the whole family as well as the child with a developmental delay or disability. Families are an integral part of the early childhood intervention team and are resourced to become their child's primary intervention worker.

This makes KEIS unique in that we offer an integrated, coordinated approach through our transdisciplinary teams, servicing the 10 local government areas of Wagga Wagga, Tumut, Gundagai, Tumbarumba, Cootamundra, Junee, Temora, Coolamon, Narrandera and Lockhart.

KEIS operates out of a purpose built early intervention centre situated in the regional New South Wales City of Wagga Wagga. This centre has state of the art facilities including therapy rooms, play, assessment and observation rooms, as well as a gym and technology room. Smaller early childhood intervention centres have been established in the rural towns of Tumut and Cootamundra.
