TechnologyAssistive Technology provides children attending KEIS the opportunity to be more independent in their play and communication. This increases children's participation and inclusion within their current and later environments. Providing specialised computers and programs has allowed therapists and educators to teach concepts and computer skills, allowing children to have skills many of their peers will when they start attending school. Such skills include basic and complex cause and effect, choice making and scanning. Assistive Technology is costly and often difficult to obtain in rural areas. Having access at KEIS reduces travel to other centres to trial equipment.
