Kurrajong Business Services

Kurrajong Business Service (KBS) provides employment for 70 adults with a disability and they are supported by 25 staff in seven small businesses located in Wagga Wagga, Narrandera, Leeton and West Wyalong.

The seven small businesses have been established over many years for the sole purpose of Kurrajong Waratah being able to offer supported employment to people with a disability.

The primary aim is to provide work skills training and support on a daily basis to enable our employees where possible to be prepared for the opportunity to seek suitable duties in open employment through our employment service Work Solutions.

Those employees who are unable to reach open employment levels are continually trained in their particular work skills duties to attain the highest and most rewarding level possible.

The opportunity exists for people to transfer within Kurrajong Waratah's supported employment businesses to pursue other work skills if desired.

KBS businesses include: catering, prepared food products, clothes ironing, commercial laundry and linen hire, recycling, property and fleet maintenance, and a café/coffee shop.

A section of KBS known as Kurrajong Maintenance provides a property and building maintenance service with the help of a crew of employees with a disability, to all of Kurrajong Waratah's premises within the Riverina. This section is also responsible for the management of the organisation's motor vehicle fleet and the NSW Government Contract local school bus run.
