Kurrajong provides accommodation support in a variety of models across the Riverina region.
The Group Home models support between two to five service users per house setting. Most houses are staffed with a community worker per two to four service users depending on service users needs.
Some houses have the support of two community workers for specific times, if the service users have been assessed and funded for this support.
The majority of group homes have a community worker sleep over at the group homes. Only where there is a specific need and funding will a community worker will be awake during the night to provide support to service users.
Kurrajong has group homes across the region. The homes are situated in the community within the suburbs of the city or town. We have been able to build two purpose built group homes to meet specific needs of our service users. We are aiming to get out of renting group homes on the open rental markets as this does not provide our service users with stability.
Each service user has their own bedroom and furnish them as they choose.
Service users are involved in all aspects of maintaining their home environment.
